At Hotel MEDO, we see a hotel stay not only as a service, but also as an opportunity to make a positive contribution to the world. With this understanding, we work together with Mary’s Meals to further support our goals in the areas of social responsibility and sustainability.
While the comfort of our guests remains our highest priority, we also want to reduce the use of resources and support children in need. During their stay, our guests have the opportunity to consciously choose not to have their room cleaned every day. For every room that is not cleaned, Hotel MEDO makes a donation to Mary’s Meals.
This small decision can create meaningful change. It helps save water, energy and cleaning products while also supporting children in some of the world’s poorest communities with a daily meal at school.
Food + Education = Hope
Mary’s Meals is an international charity with a simple but powerful mission: to provide children in some of the world’s poorest regions with a daily meal at school.
What may seem like a small gesture at first has a major impact. A warm school meal means more than food. It also means education, hope and a real opportunity for a better future.
For many children, the daily meal provided at school is the key reason they are able to attend classes regularly. By combining food and education, Mary’s Meals helps reduce hunger while encouraging children to go to school. In this way, the organisation helps break the cycle of poverty and lack of opportunity — step by step, meal by meal.
Today, Mary’s Meals reaches more than 3 million children in 16 countries worldwide. The meals are simple but nutritious, and wherever possible, ingredients are sourced from local smallholder farmers to support local communities and regional economies.
A central part of the concept is the close cooperation with local communities, schools and thousands of volunteers. The people on the ground are actively involved in the projects, because these are their children, their schools and their future.
Your Contribution at Hotel MEDO
By choosing not to have your room cleaned every day, you help in two ways: resources are saved, and children in need are supported through our donation to Mary’s Meals.
How it works:
1. Your Decision
You voluntarily choose not to have your room cleaned every day.
2. Our Contribution
For every night your room is not cleaned, Hotel MEDO donates €2.20 to Mary’s Meals.
3. The Impact
The donation helps provide warm school meals for children in need.
With a contribution of only around €22, a child can receive meals for an entire school year. Every conscious decision therefore helps give a child a meal, the chance to attend school and greater hope for the future.

Through daily school meals, Mary’s Meals supports children in need and helps reduce hunger.
